Our 8 week program is ideal for musos who've been learning for a while, but haven't had the chance or the contacts to collaborate with other players. Likewise, if you've played in a band before and you want to get back into it, Rockstar is a fantastic way to meet other musos, improve your skills and broaden your networks.
We'll group you with other players of a similar age and level, coach you through the rehearsal and performance process and help you gain invaluble experience. Rockstar Experience offers incredible value with over 3 hours of coaching and playing each week, for about the same cost as a private one hour music lesson! We cater for musicians aged 12 and above - our oldest participant to date is 70 years young!
So What Happens At A Rockstar Experience Session?
As a Rockstar Experience participant, you rehearse in your rock band every Friday night, at Sound Rehearsal Studios in Cochranes Road Moorabbin, Melbourne, for eight weeks.
Approximately 4 weeks before the program commencement date, you'll attend a "jam" event at the studios, where we'll assess which band you'll fit best into. Depending on your skill level, you're placed in a band with other musicians of similar age, musical taste and ability. Each week, professional musicians coach you through the challenges of performing in a band. Drummers and bass players learn to "lock in" together to form the rhythm section - the band's backbone. Guitarists learn to work effectively with the rhythm section so they're sounding great and getting their chance to shine. Vocalists are coached in the art of mic technique, vocal projection and on-stage presence. "Rockstar" performance is more than just good pitch!
By the end of the 8 week term, your band has done a practice gig and is ready to perform live in a showcase set for friends and family with a professional PA system, lights and live audience at the Chandelier Room, located at Sound Rehearsal Studios in Moorabbin!
When Does Rockstar Experience Run?
Rockstar Experience is offered throughout the calendar year, with weekly band sessions running for 8 weeks. Each program sells out quickly, so the sooner you register, the sooner you'lll play!
